Biking to Work

Hannah's House is a maternity home that assists pregnant women of all ages. The home provides a safe environment, emotional support and programming to assist women in getting their lives together for the sake of their babies. The Youth Service Bureau has been serving kids in the Michiana area since 1972. They offer many programs including the Young Mom's Self-Sufficiency Program, Youth Development Services, Safe Place and Safe Stations, Street Outreach and the Youth and Family Crisis Line. Cancer Services in Michiana

When someone is diagnosed with cancer the effects can be devistating both emotionally and financially. Two local organizations strive to meet the needs of your neighbors who are facing this challenge. These organizations are not a part of the American Cancer Society. They are local organizations that help local cancer patients through the generous donations of local people. There is always a need for monitary and supply donations. Supplies include items like Ensure, Carnation Instant Breakfast, shower chairs, wigs, mobility aids and more. Real Services provides in-home and community services to the elderly, disabled and low income residents in our community. Real Services offers many programs including the Guardianship Program and the Meals on Wheel Program. Real Services provides help in Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall and St. Joseph counties. Five Star, Inspiring Champions, is an after school program that teaches kids the importance of five areas of life: excellence, integrity, responsibility, service and dreams. The program is now being offered in nine different intermediate schools located in Elkhart and St. Joseph, Indiana counties. Five Star is in need of donations and volunteers. The average age of homelessness in the United States is just 7 years old. The Center for the Homeless is meeting the needs of this growing segment of the homeless population by offering a Montessori Pre-school for the youngest residents of the center. South Bend Community Schools Partner Up Program
A joint venture between SBCSC and the chamber of commerce of St. Joseph county. Formed to link businesses with schools to bring positive influences to children. Businesses allow one hour per week paid time away to visit the student in school.
